Park Lodge Hotel

We had a lovely three-night holiday stay in Scotland. The rooms are a little small but have what you need, including a smart TV. Breakfast was nice, and dinner was gorgeous, with good lactose-free and vegan choices. The wait staff were amazing and everyone was lovely. I'd definitely stay again.

The room had everything needed and was lovely and warm, and the staff across reception, housekeeping and the restaurant were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent value, and we especially love Charlie. Another very good stay at The Park. We'll be back!

The receptionist was fantastic, very helpful and friendly, and I was able to check in early. That's the one reason this wasn't a one-star stay. The room itself was chilly and poorly lit, with just three TV channels and no obvious way to warm it. The breakfast was salty and unappetising. The bed was in poor shape and fraying, the pillows were thin with no spares, and I could hear next door snoring through the paper-thin walls as if we were sharing a bed. The bath plug also wouldn't release after my bath. Around the window were holes and damaged plaster with wall plugs. I could keep going.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the double room was spacious enough. Prices were good for the area, especially with breakfast included, and dinner was very good value. A couple of things would make the room more practical: fuller pillows, a few towel hooks so towels can be put aside after a shower, and some shelf space in the shower room for toiletries. I'd recommend it.
