Balbirnie House Hotel

Lewis, the restaurant manager, and the barman in the Library bar both deserve a special mention. They were part of a really enjoyable anniversary night away, with friendly, attentive service throughout. Dinner in the “Orangery” had plenty of appealing choices, and the food arrived piping hot. There was a good selection of excellent wines to go with it, and the dinner, bed and breakfast package felt like great value. A wonderful night.

The room was spacious and clean, though the lighting was so poor I had to do my makeup in the bathroom before a wedding there. Getting parked was easy, and there were lots of ground floor access options. Our room, though, meant climbing two and a half flights of stairs, which wasn’t much fun.

A friend’s flat tyre could have spoiled departure, but the hotel helped get the car back on the road, even sending a staff member to make an emergency repair and guide them to a nearby garage. That personal care sums up the service here. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast, with a wide choice of dishes, and our spacious, well appointed room was comfortable. The hotel sits in attractive parkland, a peaceful setting for an overnight stay. Five star all round, and I’m looking forward to coming back for longer.

Balbirnie House made a beautiful setting for our wedding, and the food was so good that our guests are still talking about it. The team supported us from booking through the day itself. Katy kept everything on track throughout, and Angela was wonderful on the day, helping with ties and buttonholes and suggesting photo moments, including a first look with my dad. Nothing seemed overlooked, and we felt looked after at every stage. We’re very grateful for the whole team’s care and dedication. For lovely surroundings, great food and attentive service, this venue was perfect for us.
