Ashburn House De Luxe B&B

We spent five days at Ashburn house as a base for exploring and couldn’t have been happier. The large room was comfortable and quiet, with a superb Loch view. The house is close to town, and Hayley was a lovely, efficient host. Breakfast was delicious, generous, and easy, and the room, shared areas, and garden were all spotless.

Hayley was warm and personable, and kindly offered to dry our wet hiking gear, which we hadn’t expected. The rooms were spacious, clean, fresh, and new, with great views right across the lake. There’s secure parking behind the house. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the city center, a little out of the way but quiet and peaceful. Lovely, genuine people. I’d recommend staying again.

Room 1 was the best guesthouse room we’ve stayed in. The bed was really comfy, the views were gorgeous, and breakfast was delicious. Give the strawberry and blueberry waffles a try. We got such a warm welcome and loved all the personal touches. Trev and Hayley took over the guesthouse two years ago, and their effort shows in the updated decor and fresh, modern feel throughout. We’ll recommend it and are already booking for next year. Thanks to Trev, Hayley, and the team.

Ashburn House is close to Ben Nevis visitor center, about a 10-minute drive, and a good spot for a day of hiking at any level. You can also walk into the city in around 10 minutes along the lake shore. We stayed two nights, and the warm, clean place felt like staying with a friend. The owners care for both the house and their guests, and all the details are thoughtfully put together. I’d have happily stayed longer, and would choose Ashburn House again if we return.
