Michael made getting in straightforward and even phoned to check that we’d received the check in details. We stayed in Helm Crag, a superior double room at the top of the house, with superb views from both windows. It was well presented, with tea, coffee, biscuits, and a welcome fridge. The bathroom was high standard, with a shower and a bath. I would definitely Chestnut Villa.

We walked through Grasmere to Ambleside, which wasn’t too far, and the views were amazing. Back in the village, there are plenty of pubs, shops, and cafes just a short walk down the road. The hotel doesn’t provide breakfast, but they recommend Freda & Rays, less than a 10 minute walk away, and give 10% off your bill. We had pizza there on Saturday, delicious and reasonably priced, and the discount was a bonus. Michael upgraded us to the superior room, which was great. The whole little hotel was clean and tidy, and the room was gorgeous. Adored staying here in the heart of Grasmere. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

The beds were so comfortable, and there are beautiful views all around. It felt like a home from home, with more space than usual and lots of thoughtful, boutique touches. Thank you Chestnut Villa.

Mike was helpful and responsive whenever we needed him. The villa doesn’t serve breakfast, but you get a 10% discount at the cafe Freda And ray. We had a great stay, with spacious, clean rooms. We’ll definitely come back.

We stayed for the week in a really good bed. The place is conveniently located in the heart of the lake District, and Grasmere is within walking distance. Our room faced the main road, and we had a few inconveniences, the key didn’t work well and the room wasn’t serviced one day. Mike, the manager, was kind enough to make up for it all.
