We picked the Drummond because we were visiting friends nearby, and it turned out to be a lovely place to stay. The staff made us feel at home and were happy to help with anything. Our room was roomy and warm, with nice linen and towels, a very comfortable bed and a shower with great pressure. There’s plenty of parking, too. The hotel sits above the pub in a small village. Just bear in mind there’s no lift and you need to climb one flight of easy stairs to reach the rooms. Staff can help if needed. We’d happily recommend it.

We stopped at The Drummond for lunch yesterday and really enjoyed it, though we didn’t stay overnight. The steak pies were fabulous, and we started by sharing some lovely halloumi fries. Everything tasted properly home cooked. Ryan looked after us brilliantly, such a cheerful, friendly guy. A very nice woman served us too; she seemed to be one of the managers, but I didn’t catch her name.

We’d definitely book here again, especially with Silent Pool nearby. The room was lovely, clean and spacious, and we had a good evening with drinks and bar food followed by a really nice breakfast. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful at every turn, and we felt welcome throughout.

We only tried the pub, so I can’t say anything about the rooms. It was busy when we came in for a quick lunch, but we were seated promptly and the food and service came along efficiently. The wagyu burger from the specials was excellent, tender and cooked just right. The regular fries were okay, and the truffle oil and parmesan version was okay too, though I’m not sure it justified the extra cost. The mac and cheese was the letdown: the serving felt small and it wasn’t cheesy enough for me. Still, it’s a good pub with good food, and I’m looking forward to taking my family next time.

The food was a real pleasure, especially the cod. It was beautifully put together, with all the ingredients working well together. The roast beef was very good too. Emily and the rest of the staff were attentive and helpful, and we enjoyed the whole visit.
