For the location, it’s good value, and I had no issues with the room or the service. You can hear noise from the street and pub, but it adds to the character here. Fussy guests might find things to pick at.

The rooms are fairly basic, but decent for what you pay and where you are. I’ve always had great food here, with nice decor and good service. They often play Motown and soul classics on Magic Soul, which is a great choice.

I waited while they served the tables, then they served someone who had only just arrived at the bar. I walked out. Wetherspoons is much quicker. I won’t be coming back.

I asked for a quiet, dark room for an overnight work stay and got exactly what I wanted. The place was spotless and comfortable, though the decor could use an update. Breakfast was the one letdown, with sausage and bacon that seemed pre-prepared and microwaved. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.

The service from the bar staff, waitress and room cleaners was very friendly. The rooms have been recently refurbished, and this quaint hotel is right in the centre of Hailsham.
