The New Year’s set from DJ Stealth was a real highlight, with Motown, drum and bass, garage and party classics, plus great lights, sound effects, smoke and confetti cannons. I stayed at The JD Young Hotel in Harleston for New Year’s Eve 2025 and had a great time. The food was excellent, and breakfast before checkout was outstanding, easily one of my best, with rustic bread and really good ingredients. My room looked lovely and had a nice view. The complimentary water and delicious shortbread were a thoughtful touch. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and Beth the GM remembered me from a brunch at the end of November, which made the service feel personal. I’d happily stay again, especially if DJ Stealth is playing, and would definitely recommend it.

They even surprised my wife with a firework ice cream dessert and a gift voucher on the house. The food and service were amazing, and they got all the details right when I placed a more complicated order. It’s the kind of place I want to bring everyone I know. We’re already planning my next visit.

The food was good and the staff were very helpful, but the place has changed since our last visit. Sunday lunch was just okay, nothing special. The bar has lost some of its charm, so it wasn’t as nice as before.

I didn’t stay in the rooms, so I can’t rate them. The drinks are reasonably priced, the staff provide great service, and the place is absolutely lovely, modern and super stylish. But the food is very poor quality, and both the ingredients and cooking let it down. It’s sad, because if the food were nice I’d eat here every day. Please invest more in the produce and chef. Get that right and the place could be faultless.
