Premier Inn Harrogate South

Meipo in the restaurant was so kind and caring. I have allergies, and she went to extra lengths to help, always with a lovely smile. The hotel is an easy two minute walk from the railway station. Our room was clean, standard Premier Inn fare. Reception took a while, but once someone arrived the service was friendly and efficient.

The staff were polite and attentive, even though there were very few of them. The room cleanliness needs attention, though: the walls and tiles were mouldy, dirt covered the skirting boards, and moving the bathroom bin revealed a thick layer of grime. They’re refurbishing the site and turning rooms into a tiny restaurant to make space for apparently 30 new rooms. They should improve the existing rooms first.

It’s a typical Premier Inn, so you know roughly what to expect. The room was good, but the heater struggled, and although the bathroom was decent, I wish they had proper shower hoses instead of fixed heads. They were short-staffed in the restaurant, but the team worked hard. The young waiter handled most of it on his own and was efficient and hardworking. Staff were pleasant and put in a lot of effort despite things running out at breakfast.

The room was what I expected, and breakfast was really good, even better than usual. Premier Inn is normally consistent, but Harrogate South exceeded my already high expectations. The team were the most welcoming and attentive staff I’ve had while checking in at a Premier Inn. Big thanks to everyone.
