Chris was very attentive to my family when we went to the west park for Valentine's Day. As the restaurant filled up, though, the wait for food got longer. The starters were delicious, and the steaks my family ordered were cooked well. My monkfish, wrapped in prosciutto or Parma ham and served with seafood linguine, was briny and inedible, so I sent it back. They made another one, but it tasted exactly the same. It made me wonder whether the chef had tasted it. For a place charging premium prices, the food quality was unexpected and disappointing.

The new menu is excellent and still has that lovely charm, and the setting is gorgeous. Baris looked after us so well, attentive and friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout. The food was delicious too. A fantastic experience, and I'd definitely recommend it and come back.

We’ve stayed at The West Park several times and tried various other Harrogate hotels, and this is easily the best. The penthouse suite is worth it for a romantic weekend or a few days of living it up: two en-suites, a dressing room, a very large bedroom and a lovely living area. The food was excellent, and Borus, the head of house team colleague, was great. Another lovely stay with friendly staff and great service.

The restaurant is a real gem, with great service from Boris and the team. The chef is producing amazing dishes, and although he's an Everton fan, don't hold it against him. Our meal was sublime, especially the sticky toffee pudding, which was better than what you'll get in its home town of Cartmel. A real treat. The hotel itself is chic and very comfortable, one of the best in the area.

For the second year running, we held our annual Ladies Christmas lunch at the west park. Paulo and his team were excellent, and we had the best time. The food and service were second to none. The complimentary fizz with the festive menu was a lovely touch. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year. Thanks again, Virginia 🎄
