The hosts were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was cooked just right. We had a clean, tidy room, RX1, with a comfortable bed and a very nice shower room. The guesthouse decor is tastefully done to a high standard, especially in the dining/lounge area. We stayed two nights with friends for a 50th birthday, and the B&B was perfectly located. I had no negative experiences at all and would definitely book again. Highly recommend it.

Danielle is great at making guests feel welcome. I've stayed at Moore House twice and expect I'll come again. It's quickly become a home from home and a handy base for visiting my elderly Mother. The guest house is in the popular Old Town, not far from the sea front. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed, and breakfast has plenty of superb choices. I highly recommend it.

Breakfast was stunning, with loads of delicious choices, all cooked and presented perfectly. The weather was sunny, so we got to eat outside among the flowers, which was just beautiful. Our room at Moore House in Hastings was incredible: spacious, beautifully presented, and there was even a chilled bottle of fizz waiting for us. The whole team looked after us so well, always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Special thanks to Charlotte, who went above and beyond to make our stay in Hastings lovely. We can't wait to come back xx

Breakfast came with our package and exceeded expectations. There were plenty of fresh options, all cooked to order, so it was a lovely start to each day. We stayed in room RX6 for a long weekend, and it was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and really comfortable. The B&B is tastefully designed and perfectly placed, just a short walk from the old town. We also popped into Porters next door, part of the same complex. It's a lively, welcoming wine bar and restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere, excellent service, and an outstanding choice of food and drinks. Charlotte, our host, was warm and attentive, and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She made us feel at home. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and will definitely return.

We ended up collecting our bags and leaving our money behind to move to Wartling Place Country House, which was a major upgrade from what we left in Hastings. After talking it over as a group, we decided we couldn't stay at Moore House because it didn't suit our needs or feel safe. We were three experienced travelers in our 80s. My wife and I had the ground-floor room, while my cousin was two flights up. The stairs were steep, narrow, and winding, with no landing, a hazard for older people. The place was completely charmless. Our room was tiny, perhaps 130 ft2, with just a bed and a small round ottoman-like seat as the only other place to sit. There was virtually no storage: no dresser, shelves, or closet, just a short, fully exposed 18” closet rod at waist level. There wasn't room to put a suitcase on the floor without tripping over it. There was no host around to welcome us or help with problems. When we reached the hostess by phone, she was completely unsympathetic. We had booked three nights, so she could have resold our two rooms, but she didn't offer any refund as a goodwill gesture. Maybe we're too demanding or too old, but the price was as high as better places we'd stayed, so there was no value here. I can't see why Moore House would get a rating higher than 2.
