Premier Inn Hereford Holmer

The room was tidy and clean, with everything I needed for an overnight stay. The pub next door has closed, but the hotel has its own restaurant, and the food was delicious. It’s close to everything you need. Food and drinks are a bit pricey, though portions are generous, and there’s a happy hour for drinks, mostly bottled ones. I’d stay again.

I spent four nights here and came away with mixed feelings. The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was cheap, with blackout curtains and a shower that worked. But the room was quite dusty and generally not very clean. It’s a long way from the centre, although there are shops nearby, and breakfast was middling.

The room was good, with tea, coffee and a kettle, plus a very comfortable bed and great blackout curtains. But I didn’t sleep well from around 5:30 am onwards, with doors banging and people’s voices, presumably guests heading to work. When we arrived, staff members were standing there complaining about their jobs before the receptionist checked us in. On leaving, I wanted to tell someone, but there was nobody on reception, so the experience didn’t feel very personal.

After an easy check-in later on, we found the room clean and perfectly fine. We’d arrived early and I wanted to ask reception something, but nobody came despite ringing the bell several times, so we gave up and went into Hereford. The shower pressure was low but adequate, and the bed was fine for one night. The £10.99 breakfast buffet was a disgrace. Having stayed at Premier Inns before, I expected a cheap, cheerful all-you-can-eat breakfast, but all the hot food was cold and hadn’t been kept warm. My friend had to ask for his plate to be microwaved just to heat it up. The breakfast area was tiny, some hot choices weren’t available, and there were no vegetarian options on display, so I assume you have to ask. It was easily the worst Premier Inn breakfast I’ve had.
