The food was just OK, and there were odd differences between the menu, what they said was available, and what we actually got. We were seated at a table with extra place settings, which felt a bit lonely. The bartender seemed unsure how to use the till, then gave us a strange look when we asked for an ale from the taps before awkwardly saying they don't do ales. We came for pub lunch, but it was pretty average all round. We won't be back.

The steaks were generous and beautifully cooked, probably the best I've had in ages. My husband and I were staying with family nearby and came to the bickford arms for dinner, where the bar maids made us feel really looked after. There was great banter among the locals while we ate, which was hilarious, and we got to chat with a couple of them before we left. Proper pub, and we're planning to return for dinner in the summer.

We had a lovely Sunday Roast in this quiet little pub. I chose the Lamb and my Partner had the Beef, with Roast Potatoes and veg. Everything was absolutely lovely, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. It's in a lovely Village, too.

I’ve been collecting Sunday roast dinners for a client I care for for over two years. The food is good, and the staff are polite with generally good customer service, but in summer the portions seem to get noticeably smaller. I’ve raised this before and it keeps happening, which is disappointing when my client looks forward to these meals as a proper Sunday treat. I hope the portions can be more consistent throughout the year.

We were hungry and stopped here after another place turned us away because we hadn't reserved a table. They welcomed us warmly, and the restaurant felt comfortable and cozy. The portions were large and tasty, the price was decent, and we left full and satisfied. They even boxed up my daughter's unfinished food for us. The wait was terribly long, especially when we were so hungry. Maybe it was because just two ladies were covering the whole restaurant and bar on a pretty busy evening. Still, I'd recommend it and would eat here again if I pass by.
