I had to cancel at the last minute because we couldn't get parking, so I can't say what the apartment itself was like. We were travelling with a baby, and a public car park 15 minutes away wasn't workable. Parking had been advertised as free if you reserved a space, and I asked about it as soon as I booked, two months ahead. When I followed up a week before the trip, I was told all seven spaces were taken. The communication around this could have been much better. They also required a detailed survey on their own platform, which wasn't easy to use as a foreigner. We paid a deposit and were asked for information I wasn't comfortable providing, including my nine-month-old's passport details. I don't understand why that was needed.

The new build has all the mod cons, but arriving was a hassle. There were no signs, parking was an issue, and with no one there to help in person, I kept having to call London to get access.

We booked through Secret Escapes in late January for an April sports event, then learned by chance that the reservation had been cancelled over a maintenance problem. They had manually checked us in three days before we were due to travel, and I'd been contacting them about their broken check-in link without anyone mentioning the cancellation. They'd emailed Secret Escapes to notify me, but the war had already left them inundated with problems. Charles Hope accepted responsibility, yet their complaints process was no help at all. At very short notice, we had to find somewhere to sleep during a busy marathon weekend and were left seriously out of pocket. Their offer was 15% off a future stay. Other reviews describe the same thing happening, and after this experience I wouldn't trust them or consider staying with them again. Even when I tried to raise my complaint further, the CEO didn't get his staff to acknowledge me.
