I had a lovely stay in the double room with its own en suite. It was fresh and clean, with loads of space for the price and great amenities. The bed was very comfortable if you like a firm mattress, and the pillows were soft. The window looked onto the garden, so it was nice and quiet, away from the main road. I’d absolutely recommend Clifton Guest House for a few nights in Portslade.

The owner was the best part of my stay. I mentioned I needed somewhere to wait after checkout for an interview, since pubs and coffee shops aren’t ideal for that, and he let me stay. Thanks so much, Affan! Clifton House is a little way from the town centre, but there’s plenty of transport to get around. Just keep in mind that public transport can stop around 01:00. Taxis from the centre aren’t too expensive. I had a small single room facing the street, but it was comfortable and had everything I needed: a private sink, mini fridge, TV, wardrobe and even ironing things. The shared bathroom felt like my own, and the place looked clean. There are supermarkets nearby for stocking up. A good choice if you’re going to a convention and don’t want to spend much.

Really enjoyed the stay. The room had a lovely view through big, bright windows, and the blackout curtains and comfortable bed were great. Beautiful room in a handy location. I’ll definitely stay again 🙌🏼

The rooms are clean and fairly modern, with a TV, WiFi and fridge, but there’s no private bathroom. Some face the very busy road, while others look onto the backyard. Fine for a night, though I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for a longer stay.

I got upgraded to a really big room with a king-size bed, and it was extremely comfortable. Great place!
