The Royal Britannia

Our room was clean and really comfortable, with a huge window and an amazing view. The reception staff were so kind and helpful when we arrived, and the bar staff made our two dogs feel very welcome too. This hotel is a real old-school gem and great value. Thanks, folks, for a lovely stay.

The food was excellent and tasted freshly cooked, especially breakfast, which came with a lovely view across the harbour. The helpful team made us feel welcome straightaway. We'd gladly return, thank you!

On the Bank Holiday, everywhere else was shut, so we were SO PLEASED to find this place open. We came for breakfast: I had kippers and eggs on toast, and my Partner went for a full-on English. The views are amazing, and chatting with People who'd enjoyed staying in the rooms made me want a night in the four-poster bed!

We asked for a NON-ALCOHOLIC ginger beer, but the staff member didn't listen and opened a bottle of Crabbies. When we pointed out it wasn't what we'd ordered, she still insisted we pay because she'd opened it. The service was very poor and the customer service was shocking. We won't spend our hard-earned cash here again, and I'd suggest others don't bother either.
