The location was the one real plus: it’s a short walk from the train station, and there’s a little Tescos around the corner where I got a 2ltr bottle of water for 95p. There is a vending machine in the lobby, though I didn’t look at it. I was curious to try this hotel chain after staying here with colleagues, but I wish I hadn’t. My room was clean, and not having a window bothered me less than I expected. The shower was hard to get into because its door opened inward into the cubicle. I’m a size 12, so anyone larger might struggle even more. There were no glasses or beakers, and while my room had a bin, some others didn’t. The clothes hangers were fixed to the shelf above, and I had to stretch the neck of my T-shirt to hang it up. Worse, my colleague found a huge stain and lots of little black hairs on his bed. Nearby hotels were full, so he had to stay and slept fully clothed on top of the bed. I wouldn’t stay with this chain again.

Hayden made the stay for me. He checked us in so politely and kindly, and recommended good places to visit nearby. We had a great time in Suffolk, and I’m so grateful he was working the day we arrived. He really was the sweetest person. The beds were comfortable and the service was amazing. I’d come back.

For the low price, it’s fine for a night. The bed wasn’t especially comfortable, and the toilet door never fully shut. There was also a window right at eye level for a tall person. Just feels like that slightly hostile design you get in budget hotels.

Be careful. When I booked, I complained that the room had no air conditioning and smelled bad. The first six days were fine, but today the manager was there, and I had a very bad experience. She said she used inappropriate behaviour, but I think she tells lies. She sent me out of the room, didn’t treat me properly, and I called the police. They saw how much I had paid, and it really wasn’t fair. The manager is a perfect liar: nobody came, and she wasn’t aggressive, but she was overbearing and then tried to play the victim. The air conditioning issue doesn’t need an engineer, I think it needs an air conditioning technician. She hadn’t had anyone come. I’m now looking for somewhere to stay on New Year’s Eve that doesn’t have the same prices. The manager isn’t someone I trust, and I think she’d be better suited to being a cleaner.

The rooms are cozy, the location is great and the staff are friendly. Ky checked us in and was really helpful. The coffee was surprisingly good, and only £2.50. Such a bargain.
