The room was fairly clean and tidy, but it wasn’t ready when we arrived at 3:30, even though check-in was advertised from 3. We were left waiting in the lobby and bar area for 20 minutes, and they didn’t even waive the car park charge, which would have been a nice gesture. This isn’t one of my top Premier Inns, and I’d think twice before staying at this one again.

We were very pleased with this Premier Inn for my elderly parents’ Christmas stay. It was clean and quiet, and the location made it easy for us to drop them off and pick them up each day. Sarah greeted us and, without being asked, moved my parents to a ground-floor room. She was engaging and showed fabulous care. Thank you.

A special mention for Steven, a young lad who’d started doing some trainee chef work. With the actual chef off sick, he stepped up and produced excellent food, even though they kept to a reduced menu. His attitude and ability will take him far, and he’s a credit to himself and the company. The staff stayed helpful and cheerful through problems and disruption, including dust from installation of the new check-in desks. I’m sure they must have wanted to pull their hair out at times, but we had a good stay.

Breakfast was chaotic and badly managed. There were no free tables, food was running out, and the toasters weren’t working. It was not a pleasant experience. We arrived at 2:55 pm to find no staff on duty and the screen not working. Once someone arrived, they booked us in and were helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and nice, up to the usual good Premier standard.

The hotel has a large parking area for guests, and the staff gave excellent service. I’d forgotten my UK adapter, and they offered me one. The room was spacious and clean. It’s in a very nice spot near the harbour, with a decent restaurant downstairs. There’s also a large Asda or Tesco Express within walking distance, which is very convenient.
