The staff are super friendly, which gives the hotel a special appeal. It has cosy rooms, a quaint traditional feel in the reception area, and a good-sized lounge and bar, plus a separate breakfast area. The food was lovely. I was really happy with my choice for a night away and will definitely return for another getaway.

The rooms were spacious, though a bit dated, and the shower was strong but dated too. The receptionist was polite and friendly, and explained the room location, Wi-Fi and bar. All in all, good.

The views were beautiful, especially at sunset, and the hotel is close enough to town if you fancy exploring. The cats were a friendly bonus. After my daughter’s wedding, the comfy beds and pillows were just what we needed. Our room was immaculate and nicely decorated, and the breakfast menu was superb, with options for all allergies. It was very family friendly too. The staff spoiled my daughter with extra hot chocolate, and we enjoyed a good natter with the friendly owners. We’ll be back soon.

The staff were kind, friendly, funny and amazing, and clearly love their jobs. Every one of them was happy to help with questions, information or any issues, and they’re a real credit to the Willowbank Hotel. I found the daily menu varied, with good-sized main course portions, though food is a matter of personal taste. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the rooms were larger than average.

The room made for a disappointing stay. It was small and dated, and the bathroom door didn’t fit properly or close. There was no ventilation, and with the weather unseasonably hot, the window wouldn’t open, leaving the room stifling. Internet access was unreliable: the standard access point didn’t work in the room and only worked sporadically in the restaurant and bar. An unsecured access point did work in the room when traffic was low. The food was simple but good.
