OYO Blaby Westfield Hotel

It’s a basic but cheerful place at a good price, and the location is ideal, just a 30 second walk from the small village’s pubs and shops. The staff were helpful and accommodating. There were no bath towels in my room, but they brought them and extra toiletries right away. My partner had heard refugees were staying at the hotel and was worried, but we saw no sign of that. It was a peaceful, pleasant stay and the bed was comfortable. The only thing I’d have liked was more than one pillow each.

My stay at OYO Blaby Westfield Hotel was very unpleasant. The room was dirty, the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, the bedding looked unchanged, and the food was very poor. Staff were unfriendly and unwilling to help. Worse, staff went into my room while I was away without asking. When I came back, my belongings had been moved, which left me feeling completely unsafe. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The service fell well below even the minimum standard I’d expect.

I’m working locally, and this hotel meets all our needs. It’s clean and warm, and the staff have accommodated our requirements every time. Bibble at reception was fantastic. The hotel is also going through a refurbishment programme, and we’ll stay here again if we’re working in the area.

On our first night, the lights were switched off without any explanation. The hallways and common areas also smelled of cannabis almost constantly, which isn’t acceptable for a place meant to offer decent conditions. At first they wouldn’t even accept payment for the room. Later, while we were away, staff entered without permission, gathered all our belongings, mixed them together, put them in garbage bags, and threw them out as if they were trash. It showed no respect at all for guests or their property. OYO Blaby Westfield Hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I can’t recommend this place under any circumstances.
