voco Leicester, an IHG Hotel

We spent one night in one of the hot tub rooms, which was huge and had everything we could want. The hot tub was ready and warm when we arrived, and our view was of the Leicester Tigers Rugby ground. The gentleman at reception was friendly and helpful, explained the hotel and room, went over dining choices and breakfast times, and gave us information to remind us. The reception and restaurant staff were happy and helpful, and everything was very clean and well maintained. We'd eaten out, so only had a couple of desserts at the amazing restaurant. The cheese board and sticky toffee pudding were lovely. The staff were wonderful for dessert and breakfast the next morning, and the cooked buffet was fresh and well maintained, with a wide range of breakfast items. We'll definitely be back.

I loved the stay. The room was large, quiet, clean and comfortable, with excellent facilities, and the Wi-Fi was reliable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is part of the football stadium, though there were no matches during my visit. It's a straightforward 15-minute walk from the centre and Railway station. I didn't eat there, though some food was available for much of the day.

We booked online for one night, but when we arrived the price was £10 higher and the hotel couldn't sort it out. The man at reception wasn't very pleasant or competent. We were exhausted and didn't have the energy to argue, so we were left with a bad impression. In the morning we went back to reception to settle the matter and, to our surprise, a very pleasant young lady fixed it in two minutes. Thank you, Kelly, for being so professional.

The rooms were clean and tidy, which was the positive side. The hotel still wasn't worth the money. During my visit on 23/5/25, a room service tray was left out all evening, all night and into the morning, during a heat wave. I tried calling reception many times over several hours and got no response. I had booked a car park space, but got no answer when I used the intercom. At the bar that evening, staff said 70% of it was out of stock or not working. The restaurant food was overpriced for its quality.
