Riverside B & B

Riverside B&B sits right beside a cascading river, so there's the constant sound of water, which I found soothing. Askrigg is very quiet, and if the local pubs don't suit you, there are other options in the village. Roxana had good suggestions for routes and places to see, and we took her local advice. It's a beautiful old mill building, with lots of original features still on show. Our room was a good size, the en-suite was bigger than expected, and everything was clean and well presented. Roxana was a perfect host and even checked in after we arrived to make sure all was well. We'd picked it by chance for a short break somewhere peaceful. Booking directly by phone was quick, and the person on the phone was very friendly. Self check-in was easy, and the place matched what we saw on the website. Breakfast was outstanding, cooked perfectly with local produce and plenty of choice. It made a great base for exploring the surrounding area, though the trip felt over too soon. We'll be back.

Bainbridge is such a lovely place to stay, and this B&B was perfect for our three nights. Roxana was kind and helpful, and made cracking breakfasts. Our room was great and clean, with fresh milk in a little fridge. Thank you, we'd definitely recommend it.
