Holiday Inn Express Lichfield

The night before my wedding was stress-free, thanks in large part to Mike at reception. I was nervous, and he stayed calm, kind, and helpful. He even fixed my phone, which was such a relief. His warmth and professionalism really stood out. Everyone made us feel welcome, and breakfast the next morning was fresh, plentiful, and just what we needed after a big day. I can’t fault the stay. Thank you to Mike and the whole team for making an important night feel memorable. I’d absolutely recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Litchfield and will be back.

The staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and the room was clean. The main bed was fine, but the room temperature changed quite a bit and there was no way to cool things down when it got too hot. The second bed, a double fold-out sofa bed, was the real letdown. It was lumpy, hard, and overly bouncy, probably one of the least comfortable beds I’ve slept on. Most of the hotel was good, but the beds matter most.

The room was plain but clean, and the staff were very nice. The mattress felt old, hard, and lumpy. Dinner was a letdown: the £18 lasagna was cheap and unpleasant, like a supermarket microwave meal, and the chips were rubbery, with some hard bits. The hot breakfast options were awful. It’s fine for a couple of nights, but I’d eat dinner and breakfast elsewhere.

We’ve tried several places nearby and keep coming back to this one. The rooms have what you need, including free WiFi, and we always sleep well. There’s a good buffet breakfast in the bar area in the morning. Reception is bright, clean, and welcoming, and the staff are very helpful.
