Harper, our greyhound, was made to feel very welcome, and we really appreciated that. We were here for a night for our wedding anniversary, and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was stunning, and the dog friendly room even had access to a terrace, which we hadn’t expected. We were lucky with the weather and sat outside with prosecco in the sun. The food was outstanding too, especially the best chips I’ve ever had. We had an amazing stay and will definitely come back.

The evening meal and breakfast were both highlights, and the rooms were comfortable with good wifi throughout. There was ample parking, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The little details and extras made staying with our dog hassle free. We had a fantastic stay at Washingborough Hall Hotel.

We’re new to the area and chose the hotel for a birthday dinner after the online photos and menu caught our eye. We didn’t stay overnight. The service was friendly and very good, and there were so many appealing mains it was hard to choose. We had mussel chowder and prawns to start, then fish and mushroom tagliatelle, followed by pear Tatin and rhubarb meringue. Every dish was excellent, with no complaints, and we thought the price was good value. We’d certainly book again.

The dining room is lovely, the snug bar is nice, and breakfast was super. But the rooms feel very tired, and the whole place has a dated 1980s feel. For £250, it didn’t seem like good value. We went into Lincoln for dinner because the evening menu didn’t appeal to us. I enjoyed our one-night stay, but wouldn’t choose to stay longer. Worth a try if you’re passing.

Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff were very friendly. Parking was awkward when we arrived, probably because events were on and we came at a peak time, though there is plenty of it. The hotel has some quirky touches, including the stairs and the dipped floors in our bedroom. Our room was spectacular, with beautiful decor, an amazing bathtub, and a funny but practical pull cord above the bed for the light. The bed itself wasn’t comfortable for us, so we didn’t sleep well, though that’s a matter of preference. We didn’t spend long looking at the decor elsewhere, but the dining area at breakfast was beautiful and classy, like a period drama. The fry-up was okay, nothing special, and the portion felt small. There were plenty of other options, including fruit, and the food seemed to be served in a fine dining style.
