Lauriston Court Hotel

The location made it really convenient to get around, and we had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was delicious, with a great range of choices. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A special thank you to Ms. Suzanne (waitress) for her exceptional service, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

Everything was just right for my weekend stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was cosy and clean. The location was perfect. Even the poor weather didn’t stop me enjoying the visit. I’ll definitely come back in summer.

Breakfast was first class and cooked to perfection, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond. Sadly, the bedroom was a different story. It was small, though it had everything we needed, and that’s about the best I can say. The shower room was terrible: so cramped we had to squeeze around the bifold doors to get in, and the finish and workmanship were poor. The room felt bland and depressing, as if whoever designed it hadn’t put much thought into it. There was no mattress protector, and the old sprung mattress was so uncomfortable it felt like sleeping on a plank of wood. The bay window in the breakfast room was clearly overdue for a clean, with dust and grime all over it. I hope the owner takes this as constructive criticism. It reflects our experience honestly.

The location is fabulous, and breakfast was good. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but very tired, like the rest of the hotel. The photos on Booking.com don’t show that, and the place needs some investment.
