Ibis Styles London Southwark

The location puts most central attractions close enough, and the hotel itself is a good deal. Rooms were clean and modern, the beds comfortable, and I really liked the style. Staff were brilliant throughout, and the continental breakfast was lovely.

Breakfast was included, though it was the usual hotel buffet and nothing special. Our modern, comfortable room seemed to have a “Wicked” theme, and we had a little view of the Shard. It was surprisingly quiet for such a central spot. The location was excellent for a quick London visit, about 10 minutes from both Blackfriars and London Bridge and just a short walk from the Borough Market area.

Alina made breakfast especially welcoming each morning. She greeted us with a smile, paid close attention to guests, and was always busy clearing tables, checking the food and helping people. The hotel had plenty of breakfast choices, and our room was cleaned every day. We had a great stay and I’d gladly return to the same hotel on my next London visit. I hope more employees are like Alina.

The location made getting around easy: it’s near the Thames River side and close to London Bridge and Waterloo Underground. Trafalgar Square is a 30-minute walk. It was fairly cold, so we used the Underground, though in summer we prefer to walk. I usually choose ibis hotels when I can because their standard suits me, but Ibis Styles in Southwark went beyond what I expected. The room was spotless. Front Office and Kitchen staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome. I enjoyed chatting with them. The hotel’s spooky decor had extra lights and decorations that added a Christmassy feel. It was unexpected and fun to explore. The food was great. I was there with a family member, and we both enjoyed the variety, including gluten-free and vegetarian choices. I eat everything, and the ham, bread, cheese, waffles, fruit, croissants and cakes were tasty and good quality. The coffee deserves a mention too, it was tasty and high quality, which is rare at hotels these days. A lovely experience, thanks again to the Front Office and Kitchen Staff. I’ll be back soon.
