This is probably fine if you're used to budget travel and have low standards. In my opinion, it works if you plan to spend most of your time out and just come back to sleep. There’s a bus stop very close, and it’s a short walk from there with public transport and lots of bags. The room was small with one window and a bathroom inside. The carpet looked good, and there was an electric kettle, microwave, mini fridge, and mini TV, which worked fine. We had one twin bed and one queen bed, and the mattresses were okay. The rooms are on the top floor, with steep stairs and no elevator. My first impression wasn’t great, but it would do. The walls were stained, the heating wasn’t working, and the window wasn’t sealed properly. There was a radiator, but it didn’t work, so they provided a small electric heater. Some outlets didn’t work either. The bathroom was fair for the price, I guess, but the toilet seat moved when I sat down. Twice I thought I was fine, and then it shifted.

The toilet and kitchen were fine, though both quite small, and suitable enough for a one-night stay. The bed was comfortable, even without a headboard. The room was okay, but the window and things around it were dirty. The curtains had stains, and the window itself hadn’t been washed.

We left before making it through even one night. The place was so bad that driving four hours home seemed safer than staying. The stairs to the room felt as though they might collapse in a strong gust of wind. There was no proper check-in system or reception, and the building was filthy. The room was disgusting: stains on the walls that I don’t want to think about, dust in every corner, a rusty kettle caked in limescale, and a broken, filthy mini-fridge. The bathroom was just as bad, full of grime and dead bugs, like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. When my partner went to use it, we heard what sounded like someone walking around outside, waiting for her to come out. It was terrifying. When we tried to check out, a man was smoking inside the building. He seemed fine at first, then turned extremely hostile. He accused us of possibly stealing from the room, said “we have dodgy people staying here,” and demanded money before letting us leave. My partner was badly frightened, and it confirmed we’d never come back. I’d give this place zero stars if I could. It should not be licensed as a hotel. It’s unsafe, unhygienic, and run by people who clearly shouldn’t be in hospitality. Do yourself a favor and avoid it entirely.

The resident cat added such a sweet, homely touch, and the garden was peaceful and well kept, just right for relaxing after a day out. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful the whole time.

The garden was a great spot to chill, and they have the best cat! Staff were super nice and friendly, so the service was a great experience. The room was okay for the price, and the wifi worked really well. The neighbourhood was kind of noisy. Our kettle and TV didn’t work well, and the bed was saggy. I could feel the spring every time I turned over. For the money, it was absolutely okay!
