The staff deserve a shout-out. The doormen were always helpful and a pleasure to greet coming and going, and the bartenders were fun and friendly over a drink. The restaurant was a bit pricey, but the dishes were well prepared, delicious, and felt like fine dining. The location is hard to beat, with Uber boats nearby and Canary Wharf's shops and market district close by. It felt safe to walk around, and the hotel was quiet, well kept, and had adequate rooms. My only issue was getting too warm. I couldn't open the window enough to cool the room, and the AC wasn't what I'm used to. My wife liked the warmth, but I needed more air.

The hotel's position over the Thames is wonderful, and it could offer a great experience. But for a supposedly five-star, very quiet hotel, service felt slow and untrained, and guest privacy wasn't respected. I was in a hurry when I came in, but was followed in a way that felt rushed and stressful. I was questioned every time I entered, which got tiresome, and one person even followed me to my room. When it was quiet, management seemed to give staff odd tasks. This intrusive, interrogating approach toward guests isn't what I'd expect from a five-star hotel.

We were welcomed warmly when we arrived, and Lesley at reception was especially helpful and polite. The bars and restaurants are only a short walk away. Our room was immaculate, with a very comfortable bed and a lovely riverside view, especially at night. Breakfast was delicious and the facilities were nice. The one letdown was that the hot tub wasn't working. Otherwise, it's a very nice hotel with friendly staff, and I'll definitely stay again.

I'm very disappointed with Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel. I asked for a VAT receipt in December and still haven't received it. Booking.com confirmed the hotel is responsible for issuing the VAT invoice, but the matter remains unresolved. My latest email, sent on 22/02/26, has also had no reply. Failing to provide basic paperwork and not responding is unacceptable for a hotel at this price and standard. The aftercare and communication have been very poor. I wouldn't expect service like this.
