The staff were what made this stay special. They were so kind and helpful with little things that really mattered to me, and I've never had quite that kind of support before. I use a rollator because I'm disabled, and although we hadn't requested one, they gave us a ground-floor room. We arrived early on the 23rd of November 2005, stayed until the 26th, and they kept our bags while we went to see the city. When we returned, I was so pleased about the room. It was clean and lovely, with good tea and biscuits, nice bathroom soaps, and a very comfortable bed. London sights were easy to reach, and Hyde Park and Nothing Hill were walkable. If I come back to London, I'll stay here again.

The location worked perfectly for us, close to the tube and local services. Hyde Park International was a good choice overall, though the rooms are on the small side and can get warm.

Getting here from Queensway tube is easy, and the room was comfortable, though a little cramped. The TV remote didn't work; I told reception, but it still wasn't working on day two. On arrival there was only one sugar, so we asked for more milk and sugar. When we got back the next day, those had been provided, but the coffee hadn't been replenished and the room hadn't been made up. I was a bit annoyed, since hotels have always straightened the room during my other stays. It was also set to 24°, much too warm to sleep. Breakfast was buffet style with cooked choices, but no bacon or pork sausages. They did have garden peas.

I'd recommend this hotel for its excellent location, good value, and more than decent breakfast. This was our second stay, and the only reason for four stars instead of five was a small but persistent toilet paper issue, plus the coffee mix. On the first room service visit, there was no toilet paper and we got three decaf coffees but just one regular instead of two of each. I asked for paper before heading into the city, but it still wasn't there when we returned. I asked reception again; even the receptionist was surprised that it hadn't arrived after 30 minutes, so he went to get some himself. It looked like half a roll, but he did what he could. The next day there was a whole shipment, so I assume they'd actually run out that day. It's not a huge matter, though you'd expect better from a four-star hotel.
