Premier Inn London Paddington - Paddington Station

About this property

Make your next trip to London easier with our convenient Premier Inn London Paddington (Paddington Basin) hotel. We’re just a 5-minute walk away from Paddington Station, ideal if you’re travelling in from Bristol, Cornwall or elsewhere in the southwest. We’re also just a five-minute walk from Edgware Road Station – both stations are great for getting Tube rides to Central London and beyond! Now we’re probably a little biased, but Paddington Basin is probably one of the best places to stay in London. Not only are you close to all the fun on the Thames and right next to the train station, you’re also only a 5-minute Tube ride (or 20-minute walk…!) from Hyde Park, one of London’s biggest and most famous parks. Perfect for picnics in the summer and home to Winter Wonderland in the winter, our hotel practically puts one of London’s best parks on your doorstep. And that’s not all, we’re also really close to Regent’s Park and the world-famous Madame Tussauds – see the stars up close in all their waxy glory only an 10-minute Tube ride away from our hotel. Wherever your trip to London takes you, make sure to stop by our Bar + Block restaurant next door to fill up on some of the finest cuts of steak and our unlimited full English Premier Inn Breakfast. Make full use of our free Wi-Fi in our rooms and across our hotel, and if you need to chill out before a long journey the communal areas in our hotel are perfect. After a brilliant day exploring Paddington Basin and the rest of London, look forward to a relaxing sleep in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of the capital on one of our super-comfy kingsize beds.

We were glad we picked this hotel for its position across the street from Paddington Station. My wife and I stayed November 19 to 27, 2025, in Standard Double Room 405 on the 4th Floor, and being able to walk straight into the station was a real plus. Our room was clean and in good shape, with modern, minimal decor and hardly any visible wear on the furniture. There was enough room to relax after exploring London. Even with a busy road outside, the soundproofing kept nearly all the traffic noise out. I found the mattress very comfortable, though my wife would have liked it a little firmer. We hadn’t paid for breakfast, but the front desk staff member who checked us in, whose name I’ve forgotten, offered us complimentary access for a couple of days to try it. The hot buffet included English breakfast staples: sausage, beans, several kinds of eggs, a hash brown triangle, English bacon, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes. The quality was decent. We decided against keeping the breakfast plan because we wanted to try other breakfast spots. We thought it was very good value, mainly because of the location, and would consider staying here again on another London trip.

For what we paid in London, the value felt about right, though I wouldn’t choose to stay longer than a night. The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was surprisingly large and nice for a 2-star hotel, with a big mirror. We booked a twin, which had a double bed and a sofa bed; both were comfortable, but the room was too hot for a good night’s sleep. The location across from Paddington Station is very convenient for transport and shops. Getting online was much less convenient: our phone signal vanished inside the hotel, the free WiFi barely worked, and the paid option wasn’t much better. I had to buy the ultimate WiFi at reception by the doors because it wouldn’t load in our room. There’s no fridge, the TV channels are basic, and toiletries are limited to hand wash and body wash.

Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and the room was much nicer than the basic commuter hotel I’d expected. This was my first time at a Premier Inn, and I was pleasantly surprised. At Paddington Station, the property looked and felt brand new. I’d booked a deluxe room, which was just right for a double, in great condition, with nice lighting, useful amenities and a very comfortable bed. I’d stay at other Premier Inn locations in future after this experience.

The room was quiet from every direction, with no street or corridor noise, and I’d happily stay again. I booked a Plus room on the 5th, top floor, and it was spotless, roomy and had fast WiFi. The bed was more comfortable than ones I’ve had in much pricier, fancier hotels. The bathroom was on the small side, but bright and had plenty of hot water. The AC worked quietly and well; I used it to warm the room. I needed somewhere for a couple of nights before an early Heathrow flight, and Premier Inn exceeded my expectations. The station is about three minutes from the room, which makes the location a 10/10. It’s a no-frills place, so don’t expect staff at your beck and call, but I can’t fault the room.
