The Hoxton Shepherd's Bush

I flew in late from overseas, not knowing the area or what to order. Tash, Luke, and Vikram knew the neighborhood, the local restaurants and the vibe, and took amazing care of me. I’d planned to check in and leave, but they were so friendly and approachable that I wanted to stick around. I feel like I made friends for life. My business brings me to this area often, and now I’ll specifically stay at the Hoxton to catch up with my new mates.

The breakfast was delicious and felt more up-market than I’m used to at a hotel, and the dining room was nicely decorated. But the service felt frantic. We arrived to an unattended desk with several people waiting, while non-guests filled many of the tables. We’d prepaid breakfast with the room, but no one explained what was included. It took ages for anyone to take our order, and we had to find a waiter ourselves. A woman who’d been behind us in the entry queue had already ordered and was eating. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast but got a full English, and my orange juice was missing. I can only assume the non-hotel diners added to the rush. It’d be nice if hotel guests had priority, or if there were a larger dining area to serve both groups. Apart from breakfast, we had a lovely stay at The Hoxton while visiting for a concert at the O2 Empire. We’d never stayed in Shepherd's Bush before, but the hotel felt central, overlooking Shepherd's Bush green and just a five-minute walk to the tube. There are plenty of shops and the market nearby, and the venue was only three doors away, which was great when we left at midnight. The hotel is immaculate and beautifully designed, with a luxury feel. The warm lobby and bar were especially welcome on a cold February day. Reception staff were lovely and welcoming. Karada, I hope I’ve spelled that right, was a ray of sunshine, enthusiastic and clear when explaining everything. Our room was beautiful, modern and super clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a radio, big TV and a working thermostat that let us warm it up after returning in the cold. The bathroom looked lovely, though we didn’t have time to try the shower. We’d definitely stay again if we were in the area. Thanks for the stay!

This was my first solo trip, and I was nervous when I arrived, but Leo greeted me with such a warm smile that I felt at home straight away. He stayed attentive and made me feel welcome throughout. The room was clean, comfortable and beautiful, and all the staff were amazing. It felt like a great hotel for solo female travellers, and I’d absolutely return. Also, the Wagyu Fried Rice at Chet’s was incredible!

I’ve stayed at the Hoxton a few times because I love the place, but the team’s work on my birthday will stick with me. I arranged an apartment space celebration with friends and family just a couple of days ahead, and they couldn’t have been more helpful or organised. Amy kindly handled things by email, while Sammy made it happen on the day. Sammy went above and beyond that night, kept to the schedule, checked in regularly and was ready to answer questions or help with anything.
