The location suited us well, close to less touristy food and neighborhoods but still near central London, and you could even walk in. We went to the bar on two nights. The first bartender was confused when I ordered a Shirley Temple for a non-drinker. I explained it, but they didn’t have Sprite, so I had a coke. I then asked for a Hugo spritz and was told no, then tried a martini and was told they could only make cocktails on the list. Better attention to the bar and its service would help. The staff were friendly, chatty, and considerate, and our junior suite was ready even though we arrived early. It was spacious and well equipped, with working AC and heat. The bathroom was clean and large. There were drawbacks, though: renovations are underway and badly needed, especially for the old, dirty ground-floor carpet. We only learned at check-in that the gym was closed. The room had no lamps, just bright overhead lights, which weren’t good for winding down at night. Park International’s refillable soaps and shampoos were never refilled. I bring my own toiletries, but that still showed a lack of attention. We stayed in mid-September. I’m happy with the location and would come back, hopefully after the renovations are done.

The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with delicious hot food. I stayed for two weeks and would stay again. The accommodation was excellent and very clean, and the staff were outstanding, professional, kind, and helpful. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and the Underground is nearby.

We had a really pleasant stay in this lovely old hotel. The classic decor, especially in the beautifully decorated foyer, suited it well. Our room was a good size and had a clean bathroom, comfortable bed with nice linen, tea and coffee facilities, and a safe. Breakfast had a generous mix of hot and cold options. Cromwell Road is a handy base, with plenty of good places to eat nearby and Gloucester Road Underground just a four-minute walk away for getting around.

Gloucester Road station, several museums, a grocery store, and a coffee shop are all within walking distance, so the location is terrific. The room itself was adequate, with a fine bed and shower, but there was almost no bathroom counter space, which I like to have when traveling. There was no refrigerator, and I couldn't find an ice bucket or machine, so there was nowhere to keep drinks or food cold. The hotel was okay overall, though there were carpet stains in both my room and the shared areas. The air conditioning problem was eventually fixed the next day and worked for the rest of my stay. On the first day, I reported that it didn't seem to be working. A front desk staff member came up to check, then another called me to say maintenance wasn't available until the next day. She offered a fan and said I'd receive 20% back for the first night. I accepted, and they brought me a fan. After I got home, I asked the booking website, where I'd prepaid, when the refund would arrive. A few days later they said the property manager hadn't approved it despite several attempts. I then contacted the hotel twice and got no response. I appreciate the efforts made while I was there, but not keeping a promise of a partial refund feels dishonest. If the hotel replies and sorts this out, I'll update my review.

The staff were amazing, and breakfast was delicious. My wife and I were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge, which was such a nice surprise. There's a grocery store a few minutes away, and the tube is close too. I'd recommend it.
