Wedgewood

We were on the fourth floor, and the flowering self was slanted, which wasn’t ideal. Still, you can come in at any hour, and there was a receptionist there at midnight. It’s basically a room and a bed, and the stay was okay, not amazing, but nowhere near awful.

We had a great six nights here with a friend. The rooms were small, but cozy, clean, and nicely warm. Our real bit of luck was having receptionist AZIZ. We love you, Aziz! Thanks for being so kind and for all your work.

A mouse ran across my friend’s foot, and when we reported it at reception, the staff member seemed completely unbothered. The hygiene was the worst I’ve ever encountered in a hotel anywhere. There was mould in the room, dead insects stuck to the walls, and hair left by previous guests. Nothing felt clean or safe. Water pressure was dreadful, just a weak shower drip, and the sink plug didn’t work, so the basin wouldn’t drain. On the alt morning, I woke to a large wet patch across the hard tile floor, with water apparently coming up through it. It looks like this has happened before, since an ugly, threadbare rug had been put over the area to hide the leak. The kettle took over ten minutes to boil, and the hairdryer shook so violently I couldn’t hold it. Avoid this place. It’s cheap, but filthy. I booked through Booking.com, and they were no help when I asked for a partial refund.

I stayed from October 17 to 18, 2025, and had a really bad experience. The only thing going for the hotel is its central location. I wouldn’t recommend it. My first room was in the basement, with a terrible smell, no air conditioning, a window that couldn’t be opened, and a view of garbage bins. Reception said the hotel was full when I asked to move. After I said I couldn’t sleep there, they eventually gave me another room, but it was very small and smelled just as unpleasant. The place felt old and poorly maintained. The shower barely worked and had very low pressure, and the towels smelled awful. They also refused when I asked for an extra towel.
