The restaurant and bar staff were lovely at dinner and breakfast, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. It was good value for money, too. I usually book Premier Inn, and this one lived up to expectations. I stayed one night and was surprised how quiet it was, even though the hotel is beside a main road. It's also well placed for the station, university area and theatre.
The self-check-in machines were the one letdown. The first didn't respond, and the second was sluggish before saying my room wasn't ready at 18:15. A staff member came over, and their expression suggested the machines were often troublesome. That's why I dropped a star for service. Everything else impressed me. The room was bigger than expected, with a sofa bed, though I'm not sure that's standard since the check-in lady seemed surprised it was just me. It was extremely clean, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Rooms start on the 10th floor because the hotel sits above a multi-storey car park, so there are great city views. There was tea and coffee in the room, plus extra supplies in reception, and vending machines with chocolate and pop. The breakfast was the real surprise: a fantastic choice and good quality. I'd recommend buying it, especially with the standard room rate so cheap. I paid around £50 for a Friday night. The hotel is very close to Oxford Street train station and handy for the O2 Ritz.
For the past three years I've stayed here on work trips, and it's been consistently good. The rooms have always been clean and well stocked, and the staff are a lovely lot. Ramzan is especially helpful at breakfast, which has a good selection. The restaurant has a range of solid options for evenings when you want to stay in. It's about a ten-minute walk from Manchester Picadilly Station and close to the University. You're a little away from the city centre bustle, but the main sights are still within walking distance.
Breakfast was the highlight of my stay at Premier Inn Princess Street in Manchester. Chef Mark went above and beyond, making everything fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious. Ramzan greeted me each morning with a genuine big smile and was so warm and attentive that I felt right at home. Great food and hospitality. I'll definitely be back!
I was travelling alone and felt safe the whole time. You need to scan your key to activate the lift and reach your floor, which made the hotel feel very secure. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and it had good air conditioning and heating, a full-length mirror, vanity mirror and hairdryer. Although it's close to the ring road, it was incredibly quiet. I couldn't hear neighbours beside me or upstairs. The hotel is just outside the main centre, around a 15-minute walk in, and close to China Town and Gay Village. There's a Tesco Express around the corner, plus coffee shops, bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel restaurant was decent, the pizza was delicious, and the woman who served me was absolutely lovely. I was gutted I didn't get her name. A really pleasant stay. I'd recommend it and come again :)
