We stayed for four nights and will definitely come back. Helen and Andy were very welcoming, and the room was clean, tidy and serviced each day. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty to choose from beyond a full English, including omelettes, kippers, smoked salmon and bacon sandwiches. The toast came with homemade bread. One of the better places we’ve stayed.

We’ve stayed here several times over the years, both before and after Covid, and Andy and Helen have been consistently kind. The rooms are exceptionally clean, and breakfast has a selection of delicious home-cooked choices, including homemade bread. The Montrose bed and breakfast is only a few minutes’ walk from the seafront, handy for an early walk or a stroll after dinner. Absolutely recommend it, and we look forward to coming back. Thank you both.

We had a lovely week at Montrose guest house and would definitely stay again if we come back to minehead. Helen and Andy were perfect hosts. The room was just right and the guest house was spotless, with off-road parking and a great location. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. Highly recommend the Montrose. Breakfast was a real highlight. The first two mornings we both went for the full English, then my partner stuck with it while I switched to perfectly done poached eggs on toast, followed by a bacon sandwich on our last day. Everything came out hot and well cooked, and there was also cereal, yoghurt, juice and jams to help yourself to. I especially liked the orange and ginger marmalade. Andy was attentive, and Helen left a useful note with suggestions for dinner nearby. Our superior double was roomy, clean and had everything we needed, including a good tea and coffee tray. It faced a busy road, but that didn't bother us. We had a lovely four-night stay.
