Dave and his family make you feel genuinely welcome, and nothing seems like too much trouble. The Buccleuch Arms Hotel is especially well set up for motorcyclists, with secure covered parking, a bike washing area, a map room and a cosy TV lounge with open fires. There's a well-stocked bar for unwinding after a ride, too. I was in spotless Room 2, which was comfortable and full of character. It had everything I needed, and the shower was lovely and hot with great pressure, a proper deluge. The hotel runs as a B&B in winter and a full hotel the rest of the year, so it works as a base year-round. One of my best biker-friendly stays in the UK, and I can't recommend it enough.

A lovely place to stay in the town centre. The owners and staff were so friendly and welcoming, they even offered us a lift to the distillery for our tour. Whenever we said where we were staying, people told us how lovely the hotel is.

I was working in the area and stayed in mid December 25, during the winter season. The room was cosy, clean and tidy, with a lovely newly fitted bathroom. Everyone on staff was so nice and attentive. The cooked breakfast was my highlight, easily the best hotel breakfast I've been served, 10/10. If I'm back in the area, I'll stay here again.

Dog friendly, though I'd book a table because it can get busy. The staff were lovely, with great beer and food. I especially enjoyed the steak pie and the delicious African curry, and I'd recommend the black moffat stout. I'd definitely come back.

This was my second visit this year, and the family running the hotel are lovely and always happy to help. They know their bikes and routes, and the place is set up well for bikers. The bar is good value, and the evening food is amazing, especially the steak pie and the Boboti. Give it a try. Highly recommend.
