Dakota Eurocentral

We usually head to the south Queensferry venue for a last-minute night away, but this time we travelled further from Fife and Dakota eurocerntal is now our number one. We’ll be back. The room was clean, the bed was incredibly comfy, and the shower had great pressure. Lovely toiletries and fluffy towels too. Ordering drinks and food to the room while we got ready felt like a small luxury, and the room service was 10/10. The whole place had the peaceful, candlelit feel we wanted for a staycation. Reception staff were welcoming and all smiles. Daniel looked after us downstairs in the lounge all evening. He was cheerful, patient, down to earth, and unbelievably accommodating. He even took a few pictures of us when we asked, despite how busy it was for valentines. Anton helped with a query near the end of the evening. He was professional, kind, knew his stuff, and had a cracking sense of humour. Both of them clearly take their work seriously and enjoy dealing with people. They’re a real credit to the hotel. We couldn’t wait to get home and write about them. Thanks so much. X

A festive afternoon tea was a lovely way to spend an afternoon and well worth the price. The portions were generous and everything tasted delicious. The included festive cocktails were great too, with a real kick but still tasting lovely. Service was attentive without hovering.

Dakota is beautifully designed, with a lovely setting and a great spot between the two cities. The team are fantastic and clearly well trained. They make an effort to get you what you need and meet the standard you expect.

The event team did a great job running our small function, but the rest of the experience was a farce. We had a large group booking, and reception had mixed up all the rooms. Everyone was assigned a room under someone else’s name, and our last guest had to wait while we checked whether a room was even available. The worst problem was the parking. I entered the hire car registration when I arrived, but later got a fine anyway. The hotel told us it had been cancelled, yet the parking company sent no email confirming that. I was then charged the fine, which I didn’t owe, plus an admin fee. It’s disgraceful that the company took payment for a cancelled fine. Parking Eye makes £15m in profit a year and there’s no way to reach a human, so I’m out of pocket with no way to challenge it.
