It’s very handy for the motorway if you’re travelling to or from Glasgow or the Strathclyde park areas. We stayed one weekend night, enjoyed the visit, and would book again if we were nearby. The rooms were nice, the beds comfortable, and the staff gave great service.

The two-course Christmas lunch was a very good deal at £13. The food was good and came out quickly between courses, and the service was great. Just be aware a can of Coke costs £2.90!

I know the Moorings well and love it. The food and breakfast were lovely, though prices have gone up dramatically.

We were there with work colleagues on Friday night, and the service was awful. It took about 20 minutes to get a menu, and the staff member was anything but pleasant. When someone came to take our order, we found out they had no fish and chips or venison, and she couldn’t say which curry was available. The food was good once it finally arrived, but the staff’s attitude means I definitely won’t return.

We really enjoyed last night’s meal at the Moorings. The food was good quality, nicely presented, and reasonably priced.
