Crab & Boar

We could take our time over lunch, with no feeling that anyone was hurrying us, which meant we could play games with our two kids. The food was delicious and the staff were really nice. There was plenty of room and we had a good table. A really lovely lunch, thank you!

The food and drinks were excellent quality and expertly prepared. Everyone I dealt with on the staff was attentive without hovering, just smashing. It was a warm welcome after a tiring journey. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.

The private garden area was a lovely touch, and the room was thoughtfully decorated, though it could use a fresh coat of paint soon. Breakfast took a long time to arrive, but it was one of the best I’ve had in ages, so worth waiting for. Drinks with dinner were slow to come too. All the staff were really friendly, and I had a lovely night in this cosy pub. I’d definitely return.

There was a lovely atmosphere and the welcome was very friendly. My fish and chips were as good as they get, with wonderful light batter, though there weren’t many chips. We ordered onion rings on the side too: the five we got were crispy and nice, but that quantity didn’t justify the price. The food was good, but expensive for what you get. It was my first time at this pub.
