Terry & Avril made this our favourite of the three B & Bs we stayed in on our first trip to Ireland. The other places had their own good points, but we kept comparing them to the Old Schoolhouse Inn and saying we wanted to come back. The rooms are roomy and peaceful, and the inn is tucked into a quiet bit of Northern Ireland countryside, around a 30-minute drive from central Belfast depending on traffic. That made it easy to visit the Titanic Museum, Black Cap tours and other city sights. Each room is named for a former U.S. President, too. Breakfast was a highlight every morning. Avril's homemade bread and jams, lovely fruit, including blackberries from their hedges, and the best bacon I had on the trip made a great start to busy days. It was all delicious, and I already miss it. We'd definitely stay here again on our next Ireland visit.

Staying in a converted old school was a real treat. The setting was quiet and picturesque, and the rooms were clean and looked after well. Breakfast was top notch, and every staff member was wonderful. It was a perfect stop for us, and I'd happily return if my travels bring me back this way. Thank you!

The breakfast was my favourite in Ireland. The wheat bread was amazing, and the fruit was sweet and ripe. Sausage and bacon were great, and the eggs were cooked just right. I couldn't have been happier with the meal. The rooms and shower were nice too, and the hosts were friendly. Thanks!

After a long day of travelling and work, that comfortable bed was just what I needed. It felt like it had its own postcode! Avril & Terry were so welcoming, and I was really glad I picked the Inn instead of a Premier Inn. It's a little dated, but that suits its quirky charm, and I don't think everything needs to be modern. The views are lovely, and the peaceful location was relaxing. I'd love to see it in summer. I appreciated the little extras too, like the alcohol fridge in the shared sitting room and plenty of tea bags, sugar and milk in the room. My only small downside was that the shower wasn't very powerful.

Coming from the States, this place was a bit off the main route, and that was part of its charm. The hosts were so warm and welcoming that I felt at home. Don't miss the homemade scones, yum!
