The room was a little small, and the shower felt cramped, but it was perfectly fine for sleeping before heading out to explore. I’d originally planned to pick the cheapest option as a student on a tight budget, and I’m glad I chose the B&B instead. The friendly, personal service made it a lovely experience. Breakfast with freshly home-cooked meat felt like having a proper meal made at home by your parents. You don’t get that kind of personal welcome at an industrial hotel.

There were four of us staying one night while visiting family, and breakfast the next morning was so good. The rooms were lovely, tidy and very clean. Everyone made our stay delightful and nothing was too much trouble, from the gentleman who runs the B&B to the ladies serving breakfast. They all clearly work hard and care about what they do. Thank you so much, and sorry this review is a few weeks late!

We were in town for the races and have already booked for next year. The location was fantastic, and Mark and his team did a great job. Mark gave us a friendly welcome and arranged a ground-floor room when I asked for one for my elderly father. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed, including coffee facilities and Wi-Fi. The shower was amazing, and breakfast was cooked fresh and excellent.

A recently refurbished place with comfy beds, a good breakfast and staff who couldn't do enough for us. What more do you need for an overnight stay? Hopefully we'll see you again next year for the racing.

For £70 on a race-day Saturday, breakfast included, I really can't complain. The room was fine, the location was central, breakfast was nice and the staff were very friendly. One staff member even offered me a lift to my car, which I'd left at a wedding venue. That was a really kind favour, and it's little things like that that make a place stand out. I'd recommend it.
