We came across the pub while looking for somewhere to eat lunch, and it made for a pleasant visit. The garden and car park are lovely and set up well for good weather, with different outdoor seating areas. Inside, it's tastefully decorated, with several places to sit, and the toilets were clean. The staff greeted us warmly, showed us to our table, and took our drinks and food orders promptly. The food arrived piping hot. My one gripe was that the gravy wasn't served on the side as I asked, so it made my jacket potato skin soggy, and I can't eat it that way.

My husband stays here on work trips and insisted we stop by on our holiday. It's a beautiful pub in a stunning spot, and all the staff are so nice. Our room is lovely and cosy. We just ate in the pub. I had slow cooked beef and horseradish suet pudding with proper chips and veg. I left some veg so I could fit the sticky date pudding with liquorice ice-cream and butterscotch sauce. Outstanding!! 🤤

We had a wonderful meal in a fantastic venue, an authentic old English pub/hotel. The food was fabulous, and the pub felt friendly and cosy. Staff were helpful and polite, and our room was 5-star. Would highly recommend. Thank you.

A large car park and well kept real ales, plus a wine list that's sensibly priced and has plenty of choice. The restaurant food was very decent, too. It's a lovely country inn, with large comfortable rooms and well appointed en suite. We'll be back regularly.

Lovely place for lunch in a quaint village near Uppingham, though it's a little off the beaten track. The service was really friendly and it's excellent value for money 🤑 🤑 😋😋
