Belle Dene Guest House

Even a month after our anniversary trip, I still have lovely memories of Belle Dene Guest House. It felt like a home away from home, and our room was kept spotless. We were surprised by how close it was to the shops, park, station and beach on the English Riviera. The Air Show 2024 meant some roads in Paignton were restricted, but Maria and Chris gave us useful local directions to get back. Chris makes sure breakfast is good, and the handy local leaflet helped us choose somewhere for dinner. They’re such kind, welcoming hosts. I’d recommend booking through their own website.

The hosts were so pleasant, and they really did whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. They even put a small fridge in our room for our medication. The guesthouse is just a few yards from the beach or town centre, and everything is catered for. It’s very clean and well appointed, the sort of place even Alex Pollitzi would be happy to stay. Can’t recommend it enough, it deserves more stars.

Carol and Dave make you feel as if you’re visiting family, and the breakfasts are superb. The daily special is always lovely, with homemade bread and fresh fruit salad alongside all the usual choices. The rooms are clean and comfortable every time. This was my third visit, and it’s the best B&B I’ve been to in a long while. Devon has so many beautiful places to visit, including lots of National Trust properties nearby. I’ll definitely be back. We both really enjoyed breakfast, and our hosts were friendly throughout. The room was clean and recently refurbished. The B&B is well placed beside the high street and train station. I’d recommend it, and suggest booking through their website instead of other sites.
