We had a really enjoyable four-night stay in December. There aren't any staff on site, so it feels a bit like an Airbnb, and there's no catering. The Dial pub down the road serves excellent meals. Our room was clean, comfortable and completely quiet, even though it was by the front door. I loved the posh coffee machine in the lounge. You could help yourself to coffee, lots of teas or hot chocolate any time, day or night.

Niamh gave us a warm welcome and useful tips on places to visit and bus times. The location worked well for us, beside a historic Church and close to the beautiful Palace ruins. It's about a 45-minute walk along the main road, or you can take a train or bus. I also liked having takeaway fish and chips on the outdoor terrace. The hotel has seen better days, though our bedroom was clean and tidy, the bathroom adequate, and we slept quietly and well. Breakfast was basic, but I had yoghurt, fruit and good coffee. It would be good to see more investment in the facilities and some attention to the occasional drainage smells. The pedestrian side entrance giving access to the railway station should also be reinstated.

We love quiet places, and this one was so peaceful. The room was gorgeous, the bed comfy, and the bathroom clean and nicely done. There was a lovely selection of tea and coffee in the room too. I accidentally left one of my things behind, and the owner is sending it back to my home. Such a lovely, chatty man. WE'LL BE BACK AGAIN!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The staff were really friendly, and our room opened through French doors onto the front patio, with an outstanding view. The continental breakfast was brilliant. Great value too, and it exceeded what we expected. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

A lovely spot in the countryside. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a lounge area, a very comfy bed and views across a field where sheep were grazing. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend 👌
