Premier Inn Penrith

There’s a big public car park out front if you’re driving, and a large Sainsbury's right next door. The hotel is comfortable and not too expensive, with pleasant staff and fine service. Breakfast and the evening meal are good. It’s a bit on the edge of town for visiting Penrith’s shops.

After a long nine-hour drive through roadworks, rain, spray and strong winds, Phoebe gave us a very warm, friendly welcome. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was busy, but the staff worked hard to keep the food topped up and tables cleared. The hotel is central, so we enjoyed a morning walk around the shops. We’ll certainly stay again when we need a break on the journey north.

The location is spot on if you want to be within walking distance of pubs, restaurants and the like. The rooms are very clean and the service has been great. Carl has been helpful with our questions and with local tips on where to go in Penrith.

The premier room costs a little more than the standard one, but the extra comfort is well worth it. On another hot, uncomfortable day, walking into a room with air conditioning was a relief, and having it available all night made a proper sleep easier. The hotel is handy for the M6 and still close to Penrith town centre. Room prices vary, but the customer service stays at a high standard. Breakfast has options for most tastes, with consistently good service. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional, whatever the scale of the issue.
