Queens Hotel

The beds were really comfortable, and the bedroom felt cosy. I especially liked the reading room, where you can settle in and relax while looking out over the bay. The dining room and lounge have the same beautiful view, and the hotel has a calm, relaxing feel. Food, service and staff all made it a lovely spot for a relaxing getaway.

The room was enormous, clean and had everything we needed, with a fabulous view. There’s a restaurant on site, and breakfast is included. We were so glad we found this place after first booking somewhere else. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the cutest dog was wagging his tail behind the reception desk, which made my day even brighter.

Being right on the seafront made the location perfect, with everything within walking distance. The hotel felt warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and always around to help. We had a great stay, and the food was really tasty and to a high standard.

The shower was a letdown: the pressure was so low I could hardly wash my long hair, and the water was mostly cold. I was also disappointed by the cleanliness. Rooms are only cleaned every four days, which felt unusual for a hotel stay, and it showed. I’d asked for the room to be cleaned, but only one bed was made. It didn’t look as if anyone had vacuumed or wiped the surfaces, and I found hair from a previous guest on the floor and in the bed. That was unhygienic and unpleasant. There’s a lot to like about the hotel’s charm and atmosphere. The historic dining rooms and lounges are especially beautiful, and the sea view rooms are worth considering for their lovely outlook. Breakfast was fine, though I’d have liked more choice at the buffet. The à la carte dishes were good, and the breakfast staff were very friendly and polite. The hotel has plenty of potential, but cleanliness needs significant improvement.
