Salutation Hotel

Beautiful views, loads of parking, and just a two-minute walk from the station. The staff were wonderful and friendly, and the rooms were clean and tidy with all the amenities. The bathrooms were five-star and the food was incredible. A delightful little hotel, a true hidden gem, with very modern, tasteful decor inside.

The staff are efficient and really friendly. Food was delicious, well cooked and always piping hot. The room was cosy and warm, the value was excellent, and I loved the bar and its good wine choice. Highly recommend.

Right in the town centre, with very friendly staff and professional bar staff in particular. There's lots of whisky at the bar, and the staff know their stuff overall. Pints were okay, with lots of wine and spirits to choose from. Meals came hot and tasty. Rooms and corridors are clean. The building is very, very old, and so is the lift, though both are well maintained. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were amazing, always smiling, friendly and ready to do whatever they could to make my stay a happy one. The meals were excellent, with plenty of choice and freshly made, and Wednesday evening's entertainment was exceptional. Derek was an incredible musician. There's a great location near museums, shops and the train station, and staff are always willing to help you find your room, since you may need a sat nav to navigate to some of them. I spent four nights here on a coach holiday. My room was clean, if a little dated, but acceptable considering the hotel's age. A lovely stay. Thank you, Sally!
