The neighbourhood didn’t feel very safe to me, and a stranger knocked on my door at 5:45am. In the basement apartment, there was a lot of litter in the view from the front windows, and no privacy at the back. Although the rooms look nice at first, there were problems with the facilities: the oven didn’t work, I couldn’t see how to switch on the heating, and the towel rail that should have been heated wasn’t. Check-in without a reception was frustrating and difficult. Disappointing on many levels. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The apartment was great overall. It’s about a 20 to 25 minute walk to the harbour, so the location works if you’re a strong walker. Just be aware the mattress may feel too soft for some people’s backs.

They took a £150 deposit for the room, then told me I didn’t meet the age requirement, even though I’m 18. I’m now down over £300, and they say I may also have to pay a cancellation fee, despite them being the ones who cancelled. The woman I called was rude, and her answer to every complaint was just “okay”. They should check the information before taking a deposit. AVOID THIS PROPERTY.

Their complaint handling was excellent, with a response within a few hours even on the weekend. The apartment itself was beautiful. But the access codes are a disaster, timed down to the minute. At 10:03 I tried to go back in to empty the trash and couldn’t get in. The cleaning staff couldn’t get in either.

They charged me, then said I had to pay extra for bringing a pet. I was glad I’d taken screenshots of what they were doing, because they seemed to be trying to scam me and wanted more money. I booked through b&b and was able to complain when they didn’t send me the entry code. I was left out in the cold for hours. NOT RECOMMENDED. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.
