Premier Inn Pontefract North

Sue at reception was so friendly, kind, and supportive. She really made me feel welcome, and the restaurant and bar staff were just as attentive and pleasant. I was on a running trip, so having a bath in my spacious, comfortable room was exactly what I needed. Breakfast was excellent too, with choices that worked perfectly for my dietary needs. I had a fantastic stay at Premier Inn Pontefract and will definitely come back.

The location is amazing, and there are restaurants next door with an indoor and outdoor play area for kids. I wish I’d had my kids with me, hehe. The staff were polite and nice. I’m just not sure whether they allow dogs. I’ll be back.

There’s plenty of parking, and the train station is not too far away, which was a plus. The room was decent and clean, the bed comfortable enough, and breakfast was decent too. We booked two days with breakfast included. Just be aware there’s no lift if you have mobility issues. The corridors are very narrow, and pushing my double pram through was difficult. There are lots of doors along them as well, so with a pram you keep having to push doors open and hold them.

We ended up changing rooms later that night, after family celebrations, and the receptionist didn’t help us with the move either. The new room was a considerable distance from reception and the entrance. This isn’t the level of care I expect, and we may look elsewhere next time. We came at Christmas full of cheer, and the room was lovely until the macerator broke on Christmas morning and blocked the toilet. When I reported it, reception handed me a toilet brush and expected me to clear it myself. That wasn’t acceptable at any time, especially Christmas Day. The receptionist stayed in her seat and didn’t come to see what had happened or offer help.
