The vegan breakfast options were a real plus for me: they had oat milk, plant-based sausages and margarine, which I haven't found everywhere I've stayed. My sister and I were in the area visiting family and found the hotel very clean, with friendly staff, comfortable beds, fluffy thick towels and lots of hot water. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast, too. We love walking and enjoyed the paths along the nearby canal. Getting an Uber was awkward at times, though local taxis, buses and trains worked well. If you're taking the train, Cwmbran station is the easier choice. Trains from Pontypool New Inn are less frequent, Ubers can be hard to get there, and the walk to the hotel isn't straightforward, though it can be done. It's a well-run hotel near Cwmbran, Wales.

We got a good night's sleep, though the WiFi could've been better. The rooms were comfortable and the location worked well, especially with places to eat right next door. Staff were friendly, but at times didn't seem very sure of what they were doing. We had to go back twice to get our key card redone because it wouldn't work. Things like that happen, and the stay felt pretty average to me. I'd say it's a decent place for a couple of nights, and not a bad stay.

Breakfast came with the price and had a good range of choices, enough to set us up for the day. The room was tidy and clean, with tea and coffee making supplies, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean too, though a little worn. I had to look in the wardrobe to find an extra pillow. I stayed one night and felt it was good value for money, with the hotel doing what you'd expect.

My room was freezing when I arrived, cold enough that I could see my breath. I checked in by phone because the website wasn't working. The hotel is beside a dual carriageway and a petrol station. I was glad I skipped breakfast because it looked awful.

It's cheap and cheerful, but the breakfast costs a lot for what's included. With a Gregg's right next door, you're sorted.
