Holiday Inn Express Pontypool-Cwmbran

We slept like logs in the accessible room, which was just as we expected, and the bathroom had the extra handles, shower seat and bars we needed. The shower was great. At breakfast, we were welcomed like old friends, and nothing was too much trouble. The cooked food was made to order, hot and fresh, a great start to each day. We said we didn’t need daily cleaning since we were only using the room as a base, and were told to help ourselves to fresh tea and coffee from the breakfast area. Everything was spotless, and the welcome stayed warm despite the wet weather. We’ve stayed at a few Premier Inns, and this is one of the best. The woman at the desk made check-in easy with her friendly welcome. It’s a few miles from Newport, and we’d come back if we’re in the area.

Sue, Alison and the team made me feel safe and made each visit lovely. The staff are kind, friendly and work extremely hard. Alison was on reception last week, asked how I was, and we had a lovely chat. I’ve been coming back to this Premier Inn Pontypool for a while because I have Equine Therapy nearby. Since my first stay, I’ve always been greeted by a very friendly receptionist. My room is immaculate, the bed is so comfortable, and I sleep really well. I recommend this gem to anyone. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

The breakfast server, Sue, was the standout for me. She was so friendly and attentive and made the morning a delight. The lady on reception was informative and lovely to talk to, even late at night. My room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the amenities were top-notch. The location was perfect too. The chef cooked our breakfast fresh to order, and the poached eggs were fantastic. He was really accommodating, as were the rest of the team. After a much needed sleep, we’d had a lovely dinner and great service at the Harvester across the way. We’d arrived hours early after a long hike in the early morning, and the reception team welcomed us straight away without a problem. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from reception to housekeeping and maintenance, and went out of their way for us. Our room was clean, warm and comfy, just what we needed. It was great value and a lovely place to stay. Of all the Premier Inns we’ve stayed in around the UK, this one has been the best for friendliness and service. Thanks, everyone.
